Where Is Your Life Going?

By: Ken Austin

One day you might look back on your life and decide that you need a change in direction.  You're no longer happy being a victim of circumstance.  You decide that it is time for a change in the way you let the world choose your path.

I have an idea...

** If you are not 100% happy with the way your life is going, change it NOW. **

I have carefully chosen the language used in the opening statement, here it is again:

"You decide that it is time for a change in the way you let the world choose your path."

YOU DECIDE.... YOU LET THE WORLD CHOOSE YOUR PATH.

Who is the boss?

You are.

How many times have you allowed your own actions to be affected by outside factors?

We all want an easy life, we often go with the flow.  The flow does not always go in the direction in which we want to go.  Sometimes we have to swim upstream... it might be tiring, it might be difficult but for your own benefit IT MUST BE DONE.

Here's an example to illustrate the point:  You are swimming in a river when you hear the roar of a waterfall, you look downstream to see that you are heading in the direction of a 300ft drop.  You have a choice, do you take the least tiring option and go with the flow?  I think not... you will swim with all your might against the current in a bid to survive.

You are the only person in this example who has the ability to choose your path.  You are the only person who has the ability to choose your own path in life too.

We live in a reactive world, when things happen we react to them, we also react to changes in our lives.  It is how we choose to react to outside factors which will determine our actions.

If you were learning to ride a horse and fell off, would you choose to feel sorry for yourself or would you dust yourself off and try again?

We have a tendency to look back at past choices made.  Each choice is a fork in the road.  There are no wrong turns.  The road you have travelled has led you to where you are today.  You are defined by your actions, you do not have the chance to go back and change them.  You only have the chance to choose your actions today.

Will you let the world win or will you take control and win the fight.

Where is your life going?

The choice is yours.
