Motivational Speakers Inspire New Audiences Online

By: NewsUSA

(NewsUSA) - Those looking for an inspirational pick-me-up may need to look no further than their own computers. Just tune in, sit back and get motivated.

Motivational speakers have long been a source of inspiration for millions of people worldwide: Anthony Robbins, for instance, a celebrated business guru and author, has performed for more than 3 million people in over 80 countries. Miguel Cornejo, a popular motivational speaker from Mexico, once spoke before an audience of more than 70,000 people in a single stadium.

In the past, some consumers may have traveled miles to attend the speech or presentation of a renowned motivational speaker like Robbins or Cornejo. But now, with the recent development of sophisticated online media players, some acclaimed motivational speakers are breaking free of brick-and-mortar auditoriums and bringing their inspirational messages to the biggest auditorium in the world: the Internet.

"Internet broadcasting holds the potential to be the definitive method for motivational speakers to reach their core audiences and increase the reach of their messages to a wider audience," said Greg Demetriades, chairman and chief executive officer of WhiteBlox, a Houston-based provider of Internet broadcasting technology.

For years, Internet broadcasting has been used primarily by companies within the radio and television industries. But the unique, interactive features that some online media players offer mesh particularity well with the intimate, often viewer-centric speeches that are given by many motivational speakers.

WhiteBlox's media player, for instance, can allow speakers to broadcast videos of their presentations either for free or pay-per-view, while also incorporating such interactive features as polls, chat rooms and surveys.

Cornejo recently began using WhiteBlox's technology to broadcast his presentations on-demand, all of which are available to a worldwide audience on his Web site. This kind of unprecedented exposure, as well as the extent to which viewer interactivity is allowed, may explain why many motivational speakers suddenly are feeling inspired to move online.
